Playback of eye tracking. Struggling reader on the left and successful reader on the right.
The goal of the initial examination is to understand your current situation and what challenges you are having. Then the in depth testing can help reveal if vision is part of your problem, and what we can do to help you get the improvement you’re looking for.
Your first examination is about an hour and a half long. There is 20-25 minutes of performance testing prior to the exam, followed by 1 hour with your optometrist. We want you to be comfortable and gain an understanding about what’s happening. Based on test results, we will work together to plan the best treatment approach.
The examination looks at areas such as:
- Computerized eye tracking
- Eye teaming
- Full visual skill workup
- Visual-vestibular integration
- Depth perception testing
- And more…

Did you know that your glasses change how you perceive the world in more ways than just seeing clearly? If your glasses are just prescribed for clear vision, they may be causing you symptoms. An Ergoptics prescription considers how your eyes and brain work together. This provides improved performance, and helps to reduce unwanted symptoms like light sensitivity, headaches, dizziness, migraines and more.
